In her presentation entitled, “Family Governance: Managing The Challenges Of Wealth,” Jane Peebles outlines some reasons behind the high failure rate of wealth transfer in otherwise successful and entrepreneurial families. One issue is a lack of trust and alignment of goals between the wealth builder and heirs. Jane continues to share strategies for success, including financial competency mentorship and planned structure of leadership and governance, as well as the advisor’s role in creating an effective governance structure through advising on family meetings and constitutions.
